In between phases of just about anything, naturally gives birth to feelings of insecurity because the known world is becoming unfamiliar and we are not yet sure of the emerging, unknown world.

Our brain, more or less the seat of the mind, evolved to keep us safe and, thus, alive. It sets off the alarm whenever it perceives a threat — many of those threats are imagined, and some are very real.

When it comes to the Great Turning of the Tide we find ourselves in — particularly this in between phase before it fully takes hold — we are going to experience feelings of restlessness, confusion, and fear to name a few.

You may not even be fully aware of it, or pass it off entirely. Make no mistake: the tectonic plates beneath our feet are rumbling and shifting and that is reaping a certain type of havoc on our nervous systems, which pick up these subtle and not-so-subtle vibrations.

More “sensitive” in-tune folks will experience this more than their opposing counterparts. For good reason that is outside the scope of today’s message. If you are reading here, surely you are of this more sensitive elk.

It raises the question, “Where do we find security, really?” In the old story, we found it externally. Through governments, career, family, and retirement (money). We will soon come to realize that these sources of security had far more to do with control than anything else.

Every institution through which we derived a sense of security is transforming.

Imagine that. Just look outside and you will find plenty of evidence of this.

Drip by drip we’ve been outsourcing our self-soverignity to safety-providing institutions and it’s gotten to the point where this course is no longer sustainable. Those institutions have become leviathons and are starting to fall.

What nature seems to want is a return of self-soverignity and community, and reclaiming of power. These are all noble things!

However, the path to achieve this noble end is and will be laden with disruption, chaos, and fear.

It is our job and invitation to stay steady and hold the high watch. Many of us have been quietly preparing for this time over the years as nature does not create problems it can’t solve.

This is both a duty as world citizens and an aspect of personal, spiritual practice.
