Nature tolerates a lot.

There is one particular human behavior where a line gets drawn however.

Short-term profit that sacrifices long-term sustainability.

On just about every level — personal, professional, religious, governmental, environmental — you will see this dynamic playing out.

The strategy is inherently unsustainable, which means it should be used sparingly, as an unfortunate and absolute last resort—it should not be our go to governing principle.

Short-term profit motive is powerfully seductive though. Only values can counter it.

If values chronically fail, then we end up with our present state of affairs. People vs. people. Nation vs. nation. And a planet in an extinction crisis, with hardly a soul taking note.

If you can change your values, you can change the world.
