Why they call it spiritual practice
It's a process.
For most, if you were all of a sudden to come in to the realization that you are occupying one eternal, sacred moment—absent a beginning and end.
You would react.
You would get scared.
Your nervous system would activate and break the flow of that realization, pulling you back in to mind-made time and consciousness. This it can handle.
So, you have to be eased in to the realization.
You have to get your feet wet first, before you dive (notice the word 'die' in dive) in.
A little progress, a little glimpse of the truth.
Then back to normal consciousness.
A little bit more progress. Another step back.
And so on.
Until you are totally ready to trade the unreal for the real.
