White sheet, black dots
As you advance further and further, as your consciousness gets purer and purer, as you become more and more the instrument of Nature and not the doer of your personal will...
The more and more acutely do you feel transgressions, your ego, impurities, so called mistakes.
It will be as if an earthquake has it when you act or say something out of alignment.
Self flagellation can ensue, causing you to question your goodness, your worthiness, and so on.
Picture a blank white sheet of paper that has trace amounts of dirt here and there.
What catches your attention?
The black dots.
This is a good thing, as so much has cleared, you can focus on the nitty gritty stuff. The details.
Just remember the white sheet there in the background. The work you have done. Your goodness.
"The vanished lives of all men are dark with many shames. Human conduct is ever unreliable until anchored in the Divine. Everything in future will improve if you are making a spiritual effort now." — Sri Yukteswar
