Unplug when walking outside

Do you find yourself in the situation of being on your computer for most of the day? And when you go outside, are you plugged into your mobile device listening to music or checking email (do you have one of those things in your ear?)? If yes, then you may not realize that you are plugged into some electronic gadget for the majority of your waking hours.
Not good.
Not good mainly for the psychological fragmentation that it creates. You can't hold your attention on any one thing for more than a few minutes, you're restless, you become fidgety, you feel odd if one of your devices isn't around.
Try this for your health. When walking outside, commit to not putting on your headphones or ear buds of any kind. Also put your phone away, don't walk with it in your hand. (If you want to be truly daring, walk without sunglasses on too.) Connect to the real world for a little bit, realize that you have arms and legs and breathe air, that there are real people walking around.
If you feel overly exposed or notice your social anxiety, that's good. That's what the technology, in many situations, is covering up.
