The origin of health

Or ease with the moment.

This understanding of what health actually is, is at odds with the biological notion of health being something purely physical.

That's one level to it, more superficial, but health in the truest sense does not originate from a physical source.

It originates from a metaphysical source, namely your, i.e., that witnessing awareness occupying that physical body, relationship with the here and now and how at ease you are with it.

If you haven't seen it before, take a close look at the word disease. Or, dis + ease. Lack of ease.

It all starts with Self awareness.

Understanding of my Self.

Self realization.

Truth.

These are all concepts having to do with knowing who you are.

If you don't know or have doubts, this is where lack of ease with the moment, with reality sets in.

Because you begin to try. Pretend can be used as well.

Think about it. If you know who you are, you know what you are doing, your relationship with the moment is effortless, at ease, your action never seeks a reaction from the outside world or expects a result (as it does when you try, as you are looking for Self validation). So in a sense you are doing nothing but being.

If I don't know who I am, I try to be me (or other people I want to be like).

This leads to effort.

Effort leads to stress or worry.

Stress leads to negative physical reactions in the body.

Which leads the body into physical illness.

The reason why the entire plant and animal kingdom, indeed Nature as a whole (excluding us), does not suffer from stress is because there is no try in Nature, there is no effort.

Is the tree trying to be anything other than who and what it is?

No, it just is.

Perfectly still and at ease. Unmoved.

Funny how such a state seems to be the end goal of meditation and enlightenment teachings.

When such a state is so natural and can be seen right in front of our eyes, on a daily basis.

What happened to us?

Why are we so fundamentally flawed in this respect?

So apart from Nature?

Always trying, trying, trying.

It's a question to really consider. Hint: perhaps something unnatural happened to us?
