The big opportunity
We mostly think in terms of ourselves.
Make enough money for me and my family to live comfortable, secure lives; have nice things and so on.
Financial independence.
I can do what I want.
The big opportunity now, instead of fixing our system to continue this dream (which is really rather narrow), is something much different.
It has to do with community.
How can I work with my fellow human beings to create community in order to live comfortable, secure lives together?
A new form of financial independence could arise.
Independence of money outright, where there is no financial component.
You make the houses.
I'll take care of the sick.
You handle the farming.
I'll sweep up the trash.
And so on.
Whoever said we need an intermediary (financial economic system) to survive?
The big question to consider is: are we ready to cut our dependence on it?
