The anatomy of the ego
The ego has occupied and sealed the door to the office.
The executive office of the brain.
The ego is selfish. Needy. Destructive. Wants out. Deeply afraid. Thinks in terms of "me" and "I."
The ego is not the CEO.
That's the job of the heart.
The heart is selfless. Harmonious. It promotes life. Thinks in terms of other.
Everything we consider wrong with what we are doing to each other and the environment stems from the fact that there is this ego invader occupying the brain.
And it's been a long occupation, several millennia.
Something very serious, very grave happened to our ancestors to cause this mix up.
Really the whole goal of what we call spirituality, enlightenment is to resolve this core dilemma.
To break open the fortress the ego has created.
So the heart can take the elevator ride back up to the executive office and restore order.
Really it is a process of undoing, going back, rather than doing, seeking something not here yet.
